Last day of school!!!

It's been a fast year as we reflect today. We have a 13 yr old kid who has turned into a 5ft 10 gentleman, a sweet young lady of 12 who is looking more like 16 and a 10 yr old kid who is reminding us often that he's double digits and not a baby anymore. What a year!!

We feel blessed beyond measure as we reflect. God has brought new friends into our lives to encourage us. He has provided relief in areas where we felt despair and no hope. We have new vigor for our future and are waiting for God to reveal his plans. No matter what - it is with our God we will stand. In Christ we will put our hope and trust.

Romans 8:28 ...and we know that all things work together for the good for those who love him and are called according to his purpose.

We do love him.
Off to an awesome, God-filled summer!!

Crazy Morning!!!

So on to review from yesterday - we went over our creed and talked about Proverbs 15:1 ( a soft answer turns away wrath and a harsh word stirs up anger). We will apply this truth to our existence in our home!!!  it's already helping us as we are reminded when "things come up!"

Well this morning... we had a plumbing issue ! Cold FAST showers for sure, ahh!! Fun!!   We know God will help is figure it out. No water for The Wessels for a little bit!!!

We went last night to listen to Daddy speak - he spoke about honoring God in our minds, body, family and church. We were all very moved and blessed.  Kadin said his favorte part was when Daddy said we have to keep balance over what we put in our minds.   That movies and other media can make our minds think things it should'nt.  Devin liked that Dad pointed to the fact that God is our source of strength and power over this world and we must take time to put GOD in every day so that we are close to Him and that is what comes out of us..

Certainly... we feel blessed today to be children of the living God..... onward!

Tim - Proverbs 15:1

A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. (Proverbs 15:1 NIV)

For our last 4 days we are going to re-memorize a scripture that we believe will help us this summer!!

Hum? Why did Daddy pick this verse? LOL. Kids answered:

Because we fight a lot?

The Bible has our answers so we are going to go to it to help us work on getting along better.

Let's start with a "soft answer" ....
How about we consider that a soft answer is the best answer. When you are talked to in a way that makes you want to argue/fight back - how can we respond with a SOFT answer?

Kids answer:
Think before you speak
Kill each other with kindness

Let's pray that God will work this virtue within each one of us.... More to come.
