Romans 12:2

Get out of your head!!! Get out of your gloom and into God's joy!!!   This thought today is pointed (for us) toward our thought life.  Our minds are battlefields.  The scripture goes on to say...." think about things that are pure, honest, just, lovely and of good report."

The Bible gives such constant affirmation of God's goodness and His eagerness to operate in all the areas of human life.

It is no longer I that live, but Christ lives in me ....

He loves us!

At anytime Jesus could have said "no! Enough!" But He didn't.  He endured. He was broken and spilled out for each one of us.  He knew this price had to paid for all.

We can't tell people to be good to be loved by Him.  We have to know and understand that we come as we are - it says "while we were STILL sinners."  We don't get cleaned up to come to Him. We can't.

Thank you Jesus for your love and your willingness to give yourself for us all.

I can!

No words today really!
One day at a time. Leaning into HIS strength not mine.

Brokenness

Many of us have scars from things that have happened to us.  Like a cut or burn...it leaves a mark on our body and reminds us what happened and it tells a story.   When it's fresh, it hurts to the touch and makes us very senstitive but over time it heals and doesn't cause that kind of pain anymore.

So it is with life, we get wounded and it's painful and real and over time we heal but there is always a scar that tells the story.  If you are wounded right now reach out to Jesus to find healing and strength.  Then look back and see the scars, the places He has brought you out of and healed you from and be encouraged that He will do it again.

He heals the broken hearted.

Vulnerability

Where are you at? Are you self sufficient (eating from the forbidden tree ) for knowledge or are you trusting God and making you self vulnerable?

There's an invitation to intimacy by calling us to obedience.   Are you willing?

Luke 12

“And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them. But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.”
Luke 12:29-31 NIV

I can't even begin to go here.  I'm so tired of the worlds standards of "keeping up" with the latest technology , fashion trends ....etc...with 3 teenagers in the house this battle is real. "Everyone else" has it, does it is going to do it .   Ugh .

Jesus - Be the center of our home,  of our desires,  of our hearts today and everyday!  Cause us to be content with what we have, who we are and what you've called us to do.

Mark 10

Surrender.  Such a cliche' word in the Christian world.  As we make strides and decisions to become solely HIS it's the motive behind it, the condition of the heart that will either set us free or bind us to religion.

In my lifetime I have "surrendered" my life to Jesus more times than I can count,  however I can honestly say that It's only as of recent as I am knowing God more through reading His word and praying that I am learning that behind this act of surrender there is a motive that needs to be pure.  If my motive is to gain a better life even a testimony it's selfish and about me, but if I surrender with a heart that sees my sinfulness and my need for a savior and how He can use me despite me - this is where surrender brings life.

I'm rambling ... But it's good- it's deep- it's right - to know Him is to love Him, to love Him is to obey Him.

2 Timothy 4:2

I think it's odd what stands out for me from this scripture, I guess that's just how the Holy Spirit works when you read His word.  The "great patience and careful instruction" part ..... is resounding ....  I needed to hear this "rebuke" this morning because I don't want to forget what God has done for me and his patience toward me as I grow in my faith and love of God and others.
