Livia - James 1:19-20

Understand [this], my beloved brethren. Let every man be quick to hear [a ready listener], slow to speak, slow to take offense and to get angry. For man's anger does not promote the righteousness God [wishes and requires]. (James 1:19, 20 AMP)

Anger makes us sour and bitter.  It can hurt many people. If we don't talk it out and forgive we end up talking about the situation with others and making it worse.

Being slow to speak is a gift.  To be able to hold your tongue is a sign of self discipline .  It's better to be a ready listener.
